There are plenty of opportunities for backcountry skiing, ice climbing and snowshoeing, while children will be sure to enjoy ice skating in one of many rinks.

Visit the Krvavec Ski Resort, where you can enjoy 30 kilometers of well-groomed ski trails. Put your skiing skills to the test on a giant slalom run and pump up your adrenaline at the snow park. Children and beginners can quickly find their footing under the watchful eye of a certified ski and snowboard instructor. Velika Planina, on the other hand, is mostly known as a family-friendly ski resort.

Sledding is suitable both for younger and young at heart snow enthusiasts. Near Lake Planšar in Jezersko there is a safe and well-made 740-meter sled trail, fitted and groomed with artificial snow. For those hungry for more adrenaline, Velika Planina and Krvavec offer night sledding with illuminated trails. You can rent equipment there.

Cross-Country Skiing

Over the last couple of years, cross-country skiing has picked up in popularity since no special preparation or prior knowledge/experience is required. This winter activity has a long tradition in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, more precisely in Jezersko, which is nowadays considered one of the best cross-country skiing centers in Slovenia. The 15 kilometers of well-groomed trails that run through the Ravenska Kočna Valley are suitable both for beginners and more experienced recreational athletes. Logar Valley also prides itself on its 15-kilometer cross-country ski loop.
